Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Police state initial examinations show the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in association with the incident," they added.
City officials stated they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for information.
An important representative stated the vandalism made him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
